Vignova interview preparation showing practice questions for a saved job, each with a tip on how to answer
A set of practice questions for a saved job. Example data.
Two starting points

Questions for one job, or for the kind of role you want

From a saved job

Questions about the skills, tools and responsibilities in that job description, and about how your experience fits them. The best choice once an interview is booked.

Save the job in the tracker or with the Chrome extension first.

From your Master Profile

General behavioural and skill questions based on your background. Useful before you have a specific interview, or when you are practising for a type of role.

If you keep more than one profile, choose which one to use.

What a set includes

A full interview, from the first question to the last

Each set follows the shape of a real interview, and every question comes with a short tip on how to answer it.

Question types in a Vignova interview preparation set
Question typeWhat it covers
Opening"Tell me about yourself", shaped around the role you are interviewing for.
Skill and technicalThe tools, skills and requirements named in the job description, asked in enough depth to test them.

ClosingThe questions you might ask the interviewer at the end.
Illustrative example

A question and tip for a data analyst role

For a data analyst job at a retail company whose description asks for Power BI and SQL.

Question

The role asks for Power BI. Walk me through a dashboard you built: who used it, and what decisions did it support?

Why it is asked

  • Tests a skill named in the job description
  • Checks whether the work was used by anyone
  • Leaves room to show how you think about users

How to answer

Pick one dashboard you really built. Say who asked for it, where the data came from, one design choice you made and what changed because of it. Only quote numbers you can stand behind.

Illustrative example written for this page.

How to practise

Questions only help if you answer them out loud

  1. Reread the job description and the resume you sent. The tracker keeps both with the job.
  2. Draft answers as bullet points, not scripts, so they sound natural.
  3. Say each answer out loud and aim for one to two minutes.
  4. Prepare three or four stories from your work, projects or internships that you can adapt to different behavioural questions.
  5. Write down your own questions about the team, the work and how success is measured.

What this tool does not do. Vignova does not run mock interviews, listen to your answers or know what a company asks in its own interviews. The questions come from the job description and your profile, and the practice is up to you.

Interviews in India

Prepare for each round, not only the first

Hiring in India often runs over several rounds. The names differ from company to company, but many processes include some of these.

Online test

Aptitude, reasoning or coding tests are common in campus and fresher hiring. Practise under time limits.

Technical or functional round

The skills in the job description, tested in depth. This is where skill questions from your set help most.

Managerial round

How you work with others, handle problems and prioritise. Prepare your behavioural stories for it.

HR round

Expect questions about your notice period, current and expected pay, relocation and why you are moving. Answer honestly and consistently with your application.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is interview preparation free?

No. Interview preparation is included on the Pro and Premium plans, and each set of questions uses one interview credit from your plan. See the plans for what each includes.

How many questions do I get?

Each set has 15 questions, each with a tip on how to answer it. You can generate another set whenever you want fresh questions; each set uses one credit.

Are these the questions a specific company asks?

No. The questions are written from the job description you saved and the experience in your Master Profile. They reflect what the role asks for, not a record of any company's past interviews.

Does Vignova run mock interviews or score my answers?

No. It gives you questions and tips to practise with. Say your answers out loud, record yourself or practise with a friend, and compare what you said with the tips.

Can freshers use it?

Yes. Generate questions from your Master Profile or from a job you saved. Add your projects, internships and education to your profile first, so the questions can draw on them.

Does it work for non-technical roles?

Yes. For roles in sales, HR, accounts, operations or marketing, the skill questions follow the skills and responsibilities in the job description rather than programming topics.

Can I save or print the questions?

Every set is saved in your interview history, and you can export a set as a PDF.

How should I answer behavioural questions?

Use the STAR structure: the Situation, the Task you were responsible for, the Action you took and the Result. Keep the situation short and spend most of the answer on what you did and what changed.
